RE: Oracle uses 100% CPU

Due to our changelogs we were able to find what's wrong. We figured out, that one of our processes is causing the database to keep working in the wilderness.

Following Jim Kennedy's advice, we slapped the developer ;-)

I agree. Unless the server is hung because of 100% cpu, I don't really see a problem. I would investigate for runaway queries to try and determine if anything bad is happening. But 100% utilization in itself is not an indicator of something bad happening.

I'm not very knowledgeable on Windows, but why a 100% CPU utilization is of any concern on a server dedicated to Oracle? Is this not what we should expect during peak periods?
