With apologies to the list for going somewhat off-topic, and begging Steve's indulgence....

Today is my last day at work. My last official day as an Oracle DBA. I'll still be lurking on this list (too many of you are friends of mine for me to just drop off), will actually still be at UKOUG (I *like* the UK and see the friends comment above) but I will no longer be working as a DBA.

In fact, I will not be working in corporate America at all. I'm going back to school in September to retrain for something completely different. More people-oriented. Less hidden away in the dungeons of IT. Something I hope will bring me much more personal satisfaction with my work (there is only so much joy I can take from recovering a database <G>).

I wanted to say goodbye to the members of this list and to say thank you. I have learned something every day from your posts. I have been been amused by some posts, have often laughed out loud and have made many personal friends among you.

So... to quote the inestimable Douglas Adams.....

"so long, and thanks for all the fish"

Rachel
