Does anybody know what this file is for? It installs under the
${ORACLE_HOME}/dbs on Linux.

-rw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 1552 Jun 30 05:38 hc_${sid}.dat

[oracle_at_hostname dbs]$ more hc_${sid}.dat DO NOT DELETE OR OVERWRITE THIS FILE!!!
${sid}

The only thing that I can find on google and metalink that it is a Health Check file?

thanks.
