Hi gurus,
Has anybody used diskratio parameter in rman, if so have u seen any benefits using that
I am seeing a very high io used by rman here on a prod box which is running on hp itanium.
since hp itanium does not support asynchronous i/o we have enabled io_slaves to 4
we are taking backups of 300 gig database to 10 filesystems,(internally all of these are connected to a volumne group of 30 disks and 4 controllers). we were using 10 channels to take the backups to these file systems.
the database files are distributed across 20 file systems.
I did try bringing bring down the channels to 4 since i thought we are using 4 controllers.the backup completion time has not changed but i am seeing the same io pattern.
was wondering to alter the diskratio and reduce the filesperset
has anybody faced this performance problem before, if yes can u please let me know how u were able to solve this kind of an issue
thanks in advance
