Thanks Stephen,

I have used Werner's page before and it has been quite helpful, but I didn't see anything that explained my problem in this case. This is strictly a client issue. Oracle is being installed on a RedHat AS3 (32 bit) box. We can run the installer successfully from numerous clients. The only one causing us problems is the FC3 64-bit. Since you got that to work, I'm thinking the issue might either be our install, or some conversion between 32 bit on the server to 64 bit on the client.

I was able to install Oracle using OUI without any issues on FC3 64 bit with the SMP kernel - Werner's page was helpful in getting all of the correct libraries beforehand though.

Subject: OUI with 64 bit Fedora Core 3

A colleague has tried running OUI (non, non!!) with his client being a 64 bit Fedora Core 3 box. An X window is appearing, but it stays empty and the session disconnects (xlcock works). Right now the problem seems to be pointing to the 64 bit nature of his box as someone else can run OUI from a 32-bit Fedora Core 3. Has anyone else been able to successfully run the Installer from this environment or is there a problem within the app in this envirnonment?

Good friends, good products, TAR time.

Thanks.

Henry
