* Needed-Oracle DBA with RAC, DW and 9i exp.-VA Beach Area

Industry Leader located in the Greater Virginia Beach Virginia area ( Newport News )
needs a solid Oracle DBA with Data Warehouse and 8i, 9i and RAC skills. This person will be hired to administer and maintain complex Oracle Data Warehouse / Cognos Business Intelligence environment.

Base salary is in the 90K range and relocation assistance is provided.

This is a full time staff position so no sub-contractors or third parties please.

No H-1B candidates please.

*Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring database
integrity and security.
-Implement data models, data designs, security, and maintenance.
-Attend to database capacity issues.
-Set up and maintain data replication.
-System monitoring and notification.
-Assist technical staff with the RDBMS and associated packages.
-Write OS level scripts.
-Write SQL and PL/SQL scripts, packages, and functions.
-Tune SQL & PL/SQL for performance.
-Install & maintain Oracle software/patches.
-Install & maintain Cognos BI tool suite.
-Create various database objects.
-Project implementation and tracking.

*Requirements:
-Thorough understanding of data warehousing architecture, lifecycle, best
practices.
-Experience in multi-dimensional business intelligence tools (Cognos
preferred).
-Experience in Oracle 8i, 9i and RAC on HP-UX 11.11 / RHAS2.1.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Excellent phone etiquette.
-Ability to explore and learn other software applications.
-Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines.
-Accuracy and attention to detail.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Ability to work independently and as a team member.

-U.S. citizens or permanent residency also required.
