Dan - would you be willing to share some of these scripts? I've run into a number of things and would like to see how others have dealt with it or at least share with them what the trouble spots are. Perhaps even create a decent list of all known issues we've found with DBMS_METADATA. For example:

  1. The profile 'DEFAULT' cannot be extracted, instead generating an ORA-31603.
  2. Constraint DDL leaves off the SQL terminator, even when set via SET_TRANSFORM_PARAM.
  3. Database link names > 30 cause ORA-31600 errors.
