Hi All ,

the env is oracle 9iR2.

The PROD instance has 50 tablespaces. a dba has dropped a few ,say 2 tablespaces accidentally including contents.

The only backup available is rman hot backup along with the archive logs till an hour before the drop. The PROD instance cannot be brought down for recovery since all other tablespaces are actively used.

This being the scenario, what is the best possible way of recovery ?

One way is : recover the PROD instance on someother test machine,

export the lost tablespaces content and import it
back in PROD
machine.During this mean time, the lost tablespaces will
obviously be not accessible.hope i am right !
can transportable tablespcaces be used in this case ?

Any inputs would be of much help.

Regards,
Prem.
