Hi Patricia,=20

I tried several combinations w/o success, including the one that you = provided, so I concluded it was another issue. After many hours of = checking all the TG configuration, the only thing I noticed was that = MDAC version in oracle server was too old in comparison with new sql = installation. After upgrading MDAC in oracle server the comm was = restablished.

I hope this information be useful for anyone using TG for MSSQL.

Tks a lot for your comments

Hi Gabriel,

>From Metalink 231997.1

Subject: Transparent Gateway for MSSQL not working

Hi list,

I was using TG from 9.2 Win2k to SQL2k w/o problems, in the =3D initmssql.ora file located on oracle_home\TG4MSQL, the configuration =3D was:=3D20

HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=3D3D"SERVER=3D3DXX1;DATABASE=3D3DORACLEDB" but the original xx1 sql db was recreated as xx1\xx1:

HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=3D3D"SERVER=3D3DXX1\XX1;DATABASE=3D3DORACLE_GATEWAY" but this is not working, checking metalink docs says that for =3D server/instance syntaxis you have to use: <server>.<dbname>, but I also = =3D
tried replacing "/" with dot "." and still not working. If someone has = =3D
some experiencie specifying sql db's using this syntaxis or has some =3D suggestion, pls share it. The rest of the configuration is the same as = =3D
the original one.

TIA
Gabriel
