Ross,

Yes, there are other issues with this particular db and I'm investigating them. Primarily, there's been a 'Ioctl ASYNC_CONFIG error, errno = 1' in the trace files and I've sent a request to our sys admin to make sure the dba group has the proper system privs. Based on note Note:139272.1, I suspect that it does not.

  1. The production databases that are using SCC are 9.2.0.5 or 9.2.0.3.
  2. SCC has been in use since this database was created in Jan, but it's only set to 100.
  3. SCC is currently turned off, and the 7445 errors did stop (and the db started)
  4. If I turn it on again, the errors do return, sometimes the database starts
  5. This instance is not under a heavy load - it's being used to test AQ and message load is very light right now.
  6. I haven't set up statspack or debugging on this one - didn't expect to keep it around much longer. Then these errors started and it's my favorite sandbox today.

I'm primarily wondering if I need to consider removing the SCC parameter from the production 9.2.0.6 databases; I'm going to be patching 4 of them this weekend and I'd hate to see this happen on next Monday morning.

I'm afraid I've never installed the OHPO and my holster of silver bullets ran out a long time ago ... :)
