Get 2g of RAM.

If you have Word, email and a browser open, 1g is not enough.

If you close everything else, sure, it will work.

AAMOF, it will all run in 1g as well, albeit slowly.

RAM is cheap, your time is not.

If you also have a database running, 2g for sure.
