Regarding the Java Console, I talked with the oracle people at OOW, = stuff that is still in the java console in 10.1 includes replication, = streams and advanced queuing. She (product mgr for distrib sys/replic) = said that replication will never be available in the Grid console, as = they're trying to get us to change to streams; the other two products = will be in the grid console beginning with 10.2. =20

Subject: OEM 9i and 10g on same PC

Has anyone installed OEM 9i and 10g on the same Win XP Pro? Trying to support 8i, 9i and eventually 10g databases. According to the certification matrix, 9i OEM is okay on Win XP Pro.

It seems if you install 10g first, when you start to install 9i you = receive
a "connection closed" error.

If you install 9i first, then 10g gives a DLL error.

Filed a TAR and received the following:

Oracle recommends that you use Grid Control or Database Control in preference to the Java Console when possible. All Java Console = functionality
will be migrated to Grid Control in future releases. The Java Console = will
no longer be available once functionality migration is complete.
