        Analyze estimate with anything over 49% results in automatic compute. DBMS_STATS estimate option, will estimate to the percentage you request. =20

Without looking, doesn't estimate_percent >50 cause a compute? I remember
it did on ANALYZE, but I don't remember with DBMS_STATS... Rich

Don't feel too bad about this one. IMHO, cascade=3D>FALSE (the default) = is
the
right choice, especially if you use estimate_percent of less than 100%. Then
follow with an explicit gather_index_stats with a full compute. And any histograms also with a full compute.
