I guess you can do so if you have "Microsoft ODBC Driver".

Is it possible to create an ODBC connection from a workstation to an Oracle database if the Oracle client is not installed on the workstation.

does not seem to fit the bill. Any other ideas on where I should look or is it just impossible?
