Hi List,
I have a few questions on the RAC architecture in the 9i2 release:

  1. Per the "Oracle 9i2 RAC Concepts" manual, the number of LMS processes range from 0-9 (a total of ten processes). However some document suggested that there are (# of CPUs)/4 LMS processes with a minimum of two. Which is the correct statement?
  2. Per the "Oracle 9i2 RAC Concepts" manual, the GCS and GES maintain the GRD. What part of GRD is maintain by the GCS processes (LMS) and what part by the GES (LMD) process ?
  3. What process looks up blocks in the GRD

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks
Amir
