Paula,
If you know when the archivelog was created you can try a point in time recovery to just before that archivelog was created. If it is part of the backup then you can try to manually restore it. But, have you checked to see if that is a current redo log which has not been archived yet. If so, do switch log to archive it or do a manual recovery (sqlplus) until cancel and cancel when it asks for this log.
HTH,
Ruth

Subject: RE: OCP Vouchers??

1- I run a backup of a database in archivelog mode (hot backup) 2- I immediately use the "duplicate" database command to clone that same database
3- It fails with error message that it cannot find archivelog file.

I believe the archivelog file is missing. What I don't understand is if I can do the hot backup and immediately do a clone - what archivelog file would it need? How can I avoid having to use the archivelog file? Switch database out of archivelog mode and back in???

Thanks,
Paula
