Dear List,
We are currently in the market for storage for our production databases (one batch processing and a data warehouse). Our current storage is a san with 3 tb of raw storage using Sun A5200's using Veritas volume manager for software raid 1+0. We are experiencing a lot of growth recently and are low on storage and our processes are severely io bound. We are looking for a system with better throughput than the 5200's that is fiber based, hardware raid, that uses hot swappable scsi drives that is scaleable to the 8-10tb range; yet we are on very small business budget. So I am looking for any information on what systems you guys use in production and are happy with. Does anyone have any experience with Winchester Systems? Winchester Systems and Hitachi are the first two vendors we are considering. Which other vendor's systems do you hold in high regard and recommend we bring in considering the above requirements.

Thanks in advance,
Ken
