Hi Juan

Sorry, just repost it with the correct subject!

>you definitively will hve to buy his product Hotsos profiler (unless=20
>you are thinking in do it by your self) to put in practices the trace=20
>analysis he suggests.

My advice to solve this problem...

AFAIK at the end of 1999, when I started using event 10046, there was no = =3D Hotsos Profiler. Therefore I developed my own tool to analyze = extended =3D SQL trace files. It's name is TVD$XTAT. As a consultant I'm = not =3D interested to sell software... therefore the tool was always = free of =3D charge. Now, the current version is 2.5 years old and, = therefore, not =3D usable for Cary's methodology, i.e. method R (it was, = more or less, a =3D GUI product to replace TKPROF). Anyway, right now = I'm working hard on =3D the new version 4.0. Of course it will support = method R... therefore, in =3D my opinion, you don't need to spend money = if you can wait a couple of =3D weeks (in one month it will be = available, at least in beta, in fact I'll =3D give a series of seminars = in Switzerland and Germany where I'll show =3D it!).

Interested? Just send me an email...

Have fun
Chris
