Peter

Are you specifically interested in finding shared pool freespace fragmentation ? Shared pool freespace is maintained in multiple freelists and this script by Steve Adams shows a good picture of shared pool freespace fragmentation. BTW, Does your database have shared pool latch contention ?

Subject: Measuring shared pool fragmentation

Is there a way do measure the amount of shared pool fragmentation? I would be looking for metrics such as the largest available chunk of memory, number of fragments, average size of memory fragments ...

thanks,
Peter Schauss
