Srinivas,
The Solaris 8 (Sunbox) uses a different OS as compared to the X86 version of Solaris( akin to Linux). The CPU chips and different and the instruction sets are different.
Download the appropriate Oracle version from OTN and have fun. Ron

Solaris: 9 vx x86
Oracle 9i.

Does anybody any idea that oracle for solaris 8 (runs on a sunbox) can be loaded on an IBM PC which has solaris x86 installed ?

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas
