Yes, We did have separate schemas in place and it worked fine..but found one schema was so much easier to manage.

I've heard of another suggestion- to create a separate RMAN schema for each Oracle version that connects to the repository DB. I'd be interested to hear your opinions on that option and if anyone has experience using this approach.
