For me: another advantage to the multiple replies is that the one from the list gets routed to the folder I have setup for the list traffic. When I m expecting an answer, I have to go in there and look for one. The copy directly to me will not get routed to that folder so I am less likely to overlook it.

But I am so happy that the honorable Steve Adams has accepted the task of administering this list that I will be happy to comply with whatever new procedures he chooses to implement. And my hat has been off to Jared for quite some time now for his work at administering this list and had better not be just a quiet lurker. I expect the Perl evangelism to continue :)

Thanks to both of you! Also to everyone else that makes this list so valuable.

Well, Steve gets the final say in it, as he is the guy that can mark the checkbox on freelists. :)

Personally, I've always preferred to have the default reply to to be the poster, requiring 'reply-to-all' in your favorite MUA if you want the reply to go to the list as well.

Someone mentioned not liking getting 2 emails in reply, one personal, one to the list.

There's a big advantage to the personal reply: it often arrives before the reply to the list. Might be considered an advantage at times.
