Disclaimer: I am not a network engineer and can barely manage my own home network.

That said, why don't you talk to your network folks?

I've done this in the past, or should say requested it, and the network folks just setup DNS to round-robin on N ethernet cards in our server.

Works great, requires no work on the part of the DBA.

Laziness is a virtue: delegate.
