Please send resumes to rgaffuri_at_comcast.net It will get lost at this address due to the volume of emails on ORACLE-L. No contractors. Straight permanent position. The positions are in Fair Lakes, VA Must be able to travel to the interview and able to commute to work. We have some people who come from Richmond, but that is up to you. The DBA position requires US citizenship and the ability to get a security clearance. The developer position requires a greencard. Before being hired you must pass a criminal, financial, previous employer background check and a drug test. Project: The project has over 250 people on it and is a combination Oracle, Java, and Progress shop. By the end of 2005 we estimate 3 million users(with atleast 1 million logons a day) and 3 TBs of data(this could triple with new development). This is a structured government project that follows CMM standards and security restrictions. There may be a datawarehouse element starting soon. No estimates on size or workload, but would probably be the multi-TB range. Developer Position:
You will be the sole Oracle database liason to a team of 10-15 java developers for lifecycle development. You will be responsible for logical/physical design, performance tuning, PL/SQL. Should also be familiar with Korn Shell scripting. The java teams are not that familiar with the database so you must be able to communicate with them the need for this to be a database driven application. Be prepared for push back. Must have a thorough understanding of DBA activities. You will not have anyone on your team who is familiar with the database. You will be the absolute end of the line. Projects last 3-12 months. So there is an opportunity to do alot of different work. DBA Position:
Primary duties will include performing daily checks, database and schema upgrades, database configuration and security management, maintaining backups and associated recovery strategies, capacity planning, performance tuning, loading data and general troubleshooting of the 50+ Oracle databases. This includes interaction with all phases of the lifecycle from development through production. Must be willing to provide on-call support for 24x7 operations, including some regular weekend and late-night maintenance activities. Experience in the following areas is required:

Oracle database administration on unix, preferably Solaris 7/8

Oracle RMAN for backups & recovery

Oracle Enterprise Manager

Oracle PL/SQL

Unix shell scripting, preferably ksh

US citizenship required; must be eligible to obtain security clearance

Experience in the following areas is an asset:

Progress database and Progress DataServer

Data Warehousing/OLAP

Grade range of 863-864 final grade determination of will be based on the qualifications of the candidate
