Dan, can you try it on 9.2.0.5 and/or 10.1.0.3? If you get the stat lines, then it's a bug. If you don't, it's a feature (I'm not trying to be funny. It comes naturally.) Basically, the only way to prove/disprove your assumption is to see whether that behavior is consistent across versions and platforms.

I have a logon trigger to capture session information (poor man's audit). In the 10046 trace file, I see the cursors assoctiated with the trigger, but they do not produce STAT lines.
