List.
I received this notice this morning about 10g 10.1.0.3 download.

Our records indicate that you have downloaded Oracle 10g Release 1 Patch set 1 (10.1.0.3) for MS Windows (32-bit) or Linux x86 on or before Aug 19, 2004. We have identified a problem, which can cause an error in CLOB or NCLOB columns.

We have already obsoleted 10.1.0.3 patch set for these two platforms. Oracle Development is working on this issue at the highest priority and a corrected version will be reloaded under the same bug number (3761843) very shortly.

Please contact Oracle Support, if your database meets the following specific conditions:

1.. The database is on either MS Windows (32-bit) or Linux x86.
2.. The database was upgraded from 10.1.0.2 to 10.1.0.3
3.. The database compatibility mode is 10.1.
4.. The database character set/national character set is
varying-width multi-byte (UTF8, AL32UTF8, or JA16EUC, for example).   5.. New tables with CLOB or NCLOB columns were created on 10.1.0.2, or new CLOB or NCLOB columns were added to any tables on 10.1.0.2.

No action is needed if your database does not meet ALL of the above conditions. Please note that tables and columns, which were created in 10.1.0.2 with 9.2 compatibility mode, or created before 10.1.0.2, are not affected.
