   And if you've used RAID5 for the really large database (probably a data warehouse), then recovery might take longer than you expect. I thought somebody on the list mentioned that they were using a mirrored drive system for backups. Something like a 3-mirror system so you have your production and backup, then a third system that is your last backup. To backup you split the mirror then copy the mirror copy to the third copy, then resilver the mirror. And then write everything to tape or something. Maybe somebody that does that can provide the correct description of this method.
