I recall that I had something similar a few months ago.

If I recall correctly, it appeared that if you are connected via a = dedicated server connection (server=3Ddedicated in tnsnames.ora) a trace = file is produced as expected (in /udump). If you are connected via a = shared_connection and a trace file is produced elsewhere (/bdump = perhaps). This was on a HP-UX 9.2.x database. This got me as well. =20

Check all the directories under $ORACLE_BASE.

We are using the Korn shell on AIX and I am familiar with the location = of=20
the trace files and $ORACLE_HOME.=20
As an aside, in the spirit of never taking anything for granted I am=20 actually a male and not a female.=20

Dan, I believe that Tracy is using conventions for JCL or REXX as the shell language. I don't think that she has such thing as $ORACLE_HOME.
