Well now that it is free with SE, I suspect that the pricing issues are on their way out :).

I have reread your original question, and i'd suggest that one reason for the lack of response *might* be that RAC survives network failures to a single node well in most cases and so no-one else had a similar experience. There is a brownout period in this sort of circumstance, but I haven't seen any discussion that this causes the problems you describe.
