Hi Greg,=20

Do you have SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES=3D(NTS) in your sqlnet.ora? Is your userid in the ORA_DBA group?=20

It sounds like this may already be the case, but it's worth checking. I hope this helps.

I'm scared. The rest of the DBA team refers to me as "windows guru" (which I am not). YUCK YUCK YUCK what an insult!

Subject: ORA-01031, sysdba, and Windows XP

Hey guys,
=20

I'm not a wintel person by any means, and I have RTFM and RTFW as well. If
I'm encountering the infamous ORA-01031 while connecting as sysdba on the
wintel platform - what do I have configured incorrectly, or better yet - not
configured at all?

=20

I previously had a DB there, removed it, and the Registry settings..And now
I'm unable to connect via "/ as sysdba" nor capable of connecting remotely
as sysdba.

=20

=20

Thanks in advance from a "wintel no nothing"

=20

Thanks!
