Hi NIall I investigated the same
The serach using contains works fine, but to see what you find we prefered to download to file and open the pdf,
in the time I took to investigate how to display pdf contents, or at least words around what you found, it was better to open. Maybe one day will investigate further.

Subject: PDF Highlighting

>From my experimentation, and indeed some of the posts on the OTN
forums (fora?), it would appear that using Intermedia Text to index and display text from PDF documents is somewhat problematic, which is to say that the result looks horrible.

This is rather disappointing to me as I was hoping to implement a poor man's tahiti.oracle.com using intermedia and the Oracle PDFs. (There are at least 2 good reasons for re-inventing the wheel here).

If anyone has done something similar, especially if you can point me at good resources to show how to display matching terms in context, I'd be grateful.
