check out the ulimit command and the /etc/security/limits file.

you can go over 2GB without too much difficulty provided the OS is prepared for it.

Subject: Max datafile size in AIX5.2L

Hi All,
The env. is oracle 9.2.0.4 & AIX 5.2L (64 bit)

What is the safe limit for maximum datafile size ? I see lot of articles about 2GB limitation.

Any advise would be greatly helpful.

Thanks.
Prem.
