Thanks for the note. The name doesn't ring a bell, on the web page I noticed:

"However, please notice that the NEdit GUI is still based on OSF Motif"

which pretty much rules it out as a possibility. This editor was entirely X lib only. Which means the guy(s) had to code their own buttons, borders, text handling windows, etc. etc. which I think is just amazing. This gave the editor its own unique appearance. On top of all that, they designed a scripting language (I think) so that you could create your own custom modules that loaded when you started the editor.

I hate it when I forget something like this. But at least now, maybe some more people out there can be annoyed wondering what the thing was called.
