Not "pretty much every". Just publicly traded companies who wish to comply with SEC regulations on the subject.

In fact, some companies are fighting compliance. While the NYSE will then delist them, they can still trade OTC or on other exchanges. If this is happening to you, you're probably NOT working for civil service, a private company, or an internationally-based division of a large conglomerate.

Sarbaines-oxley is a law which pretty much every unit in an organization has to deal with . This includes dba's as this law makes it tough for every company without a proper change control can be audited and fined. Most of US companies are dealing with this.
