smon.trc file

For one of my production instances, the admin/<sid>/bdump directory contains a file called smon_22764_<sid>.trc with entries which look like this:

• 2004-03-18 13:16:56.063 Using 5 slaves for 1 dead transactions Recovered xid: 0x0004.045.00001fae in 0 milliseconds; nchk=0, size=3651

What are these entries and what do the statistics mean?
