Well hung AIX system can bring a lot of joy to the users. Now that I've blurted that, define "hung". Is it spending CPU? Is it waiting? What is it waiting for? Can you connect to the database? Anything in the log file? Are there any trace files? I must admit that the thought of well hung AIX systems doing joins is rather provocative, but the posts on this list should be rated "G" for General Audience. I believe that we're in the PG-13 zone right now.
