Linux for x86 or Intel

The Oracle website has release documentation for Oracle 9.2 on x86 based Linux and on the next line they have the same documentation for Oracle 9.2 on Intel based Linux.

I thought Intel and x86 were the same thing. Can anyone explain the difference?
