Evening all,
I'm doing a DR test and ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PRIMARY; seems to be taking a long time (20 mins).

Here's what I'm doing

Shutdown the primary to simiulate site failure

Issue the following on the primary

ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE FINISH SKIP STANDBY LOGFILE; and then
ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PRIMARY;   Which is where it's hanging,

Alert log reflects nothing really helpful Sat May 22 02:38:50 2004
ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PRIMARY Database not recovered through End-Of-REDO Begin: Wait for standby logfiles to be archived

Is this wait expected?

Thanks

Steve
