sqlplus suppress output - other than set autotrace traceonly

I am running an 10046 event trace from sqlplus for a query which returns a lot of rows to the terminal.

How can I suppress the output by another method than autotrace traceonly? ( so that my trace file doesnt show all that extra processing from autotrace)

Thanks,
