However, if there are any changes to the SPFILE that are not in the init.ora, you will lose them. If you want to keep these changes, then try this:

Copy your init.ora file to a backup file.
Create pfile from spfile;
Delete spfile
Compare new init.ora and the backup you took
Keep the parameters you definitely want in the init.ora
Shutdown and startup using the new init.ora.
