A challenge.

You may be interested to hear something Tom Kyte said when addressing UK-OU=
G last year on the subject of functions in SQL. So impressed is he with the=
se new additions to SQL, that he claimed there was now little or nothing he=
 could not do in SQL that previously required use of a 3GL.

The answer to this question may require more than the usual snap reply, but=  a little careful thought on the application of functions. One immediately = ponders whether sliding windows might not help...
