I haven't read the article (going to look for it now), but if you have primary / unique constraints in an enable novalidate state and use "exchange partition without validation" the exchange partition seems to be lightning fast.=20

Given some of what I've learned (from Jonathan Lewis's DBAzine article) about the performance of "exchange partition", I'm not so eager to go that route now.
