Thankyou Jonathan! I read that document, I don't know exactly what Iam = missing!! But last two months Iam checking my db with lots of db file = sequential reads(90%) in my statspack, so lots of single block reads and = multiblock reads with nested loops. Most of my erp tables had indexes = with stats. So optimizer has same info to make better decision??

You might want to read:

It may explain why your batch job is
taking longer to complete.

Even the "least worst" values for these
parameters can have a negative effect
on SOME of your code.=20

Hi Friends,

Before I used to have default settings of below params, But I changed to = =3D
40(oica) and 90. But my 1/2hour batch job taking 2 1/2hrs extra time =3D because of these params!! Is there any particular reason behind it? =3D Instead of improving performance its decreased drastically, So how to = =3D
arrive optimal values for these two params? Mine is oracle8174 with =3D AIX51. TIA
Raghu.
