For Oracle clustering, no. You can cluster the Oracle database with just the Oracle clustering software without using Sun's or Veritas's clustering. =20

If you want non-Oracle things on the boxes to be clustered, though, you may need to use additional software.

If I use "Oracle Cluster Ready Services Release 1 (10.1.0.2) for SPARC ", do I still need buy "SUN Cluster software 3.X" or "Veritas cluster software for SUN 4.X"?

Thanks.
