This may be tedious, but you need to do it 2) Get Robert Freemans Backup and Recovery book. Just do it. 3) The following doc may or not be helpful to you. It is a quick and dirty writeup of my experiences cloning an 8i database to another server via RMAN and Veritas NetBackup. http://www.cybcon.com/~jkstill/Alternate_Client_Restore_With_Veritas_NetBackup_and_Oracle_RMAN.doc Jared "H elp_me" Sent by: oracle-l-bounce@freelists.org 04/15/2004 12:09 AM Please respond to oracle-l To: oracle-l@freelists.org cc: steve.montgomerie@siemens.com Subject: RE: RMAN Recovery without Catalog Hello Steve, Thanks for the reply.. I am still not clear.. will it read it from HOST_A ? What if i have already backed up using RMAN but for recovery don't have the catalog. Say : Backuped up HOST_A database using RMAN to DISK1. Now when I restore without catalog.. will it read from DISK1 or HOST_A ? Well, if i duplicate the database using RMAN.. it should read from HOST_A directly. Thanks agian.
