The instructions appear to be referencing Oracle on an NT type server. Not Unix or Sun.

I use the Oracle Transparent Gateway for Sql Server. It uses database links to access Sql Server like an Oracle table. It works surprisingly well. Check out Doc ID:231458.1 for a step by step. It covers both 8i and 9. --Chris
