To comment on Oracle support - I think Oracle support is actually very good, but if you have more than an elementary question you need to push past the first level(s) to get the answer you need. I have almost never had an unresolved problem with Oracle support, though many times the answer has been "we will need to file a bug report - is this really critical to you?" or "this is solved in patch so-and-so."
