Check whether you have the control files in place as per your spfile.

hello List,

I am new to list and as well as new to oracle. I have installed oracle 9.0.1 on RedHat 7.3. And now if i do now "dbstart" gives me following error

"error in identifying controlfile, check alert log for more info"

i checked lof and got the following lines there

PMON started with pid=2
DBW0 started with pid=3
LGWR started with pid=4
CKPT started with pid=5
SMON started with pid=6
RECO started with pid=7

Mon Apr 5 14:56:40 2004
ALTER DATABASE MOUNT
Mon Apr 5 14:56:40 2004
ORA-00202: controlfile: 'ora_control1'
ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory Additional information: 3
Mon Apr 5 14:56:43 2004
ORA-205 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE MOUNT...

Please suggest me something.
