The Oracle University certification FAQ about Time Restrictions or
Requirements to finish exams has:
"The retirement announcements are also posted on the OCP web site at
least 6 months in advance of the actual retirement date."
Currently the Oracle 8i OCP DBA exam retirement date has not been
announced at:
http://www.oracle.com/education/certification/news/index.html?content.html
If Oracle retires the 8i OCP DBA exams in like manner as Oracle 8, the 8i OCP DBA exams would be retired six months after Error Correction Support ends.
Note: Oracle 8.0.6 Error Correction Support ended on 30 Sep 2001; the Oracle 8 OCP DBA exams were retired on 31 Mar 2002 (six months later).
Keep Smiling, Chip :)
OCP DBA 7.3, 8, 8i, & 9i (passed the exams - still learning how to
optimize Oracle)
