Subject: RE: Help - outside agencies

Guys,

My department decided to change their domain. Oracle 9ias requires the fully qualified host name. Is there a way I can change this during the install or after the install????

With 9iAS R2 both the IP# & host name MUST remain as they existed at the time the s/w was installed. Niether can be changed without doing a complete re-install.

I've heard that 10g AS provides a way to change one or both, but have not seen any formally documented so far.

Good Luck!
